Chef Tamiano Penitani
Chef Tamiano Penitani is the owner and head chef of Jamano Kitchen, a Wellington-based catering company specialising in generous, chef-made buffet meals.
Drawing on his Tongan heritage and experience in some of Auckland’s top restaurants, Chef Tamiano brings a unique blend of cultural flavours and professional expertise to his culinary creations.
Before embarking on his culinary journey, Tamiano spent two decades as a table games dealer at SkyCity Casino. His transition into the culinary world reflects a deep passion for food and hospitality, culminating in the establishment of Jamano Kitchen.
At Jamano Kitchen, Chef Tamiano offers two curated buffet menus: “Global Comfort” and “Pacific Heart”, both designed as easy ready-to-go options. There is also flexibility to cater to diverse event needs, and some ‘wow factor’ options with seafood for example.
What sets Jamano Kitchen apart? Restaurant-quality meals prepared by a qualified Chef, classically trained at the New Zealand School of Food and Wine. Those dishes are served in specially chosen foil dishes that can be placed directly into a standard bain-marie or warmer, ensuring convenience and freshness for clients.
